A letter from the founder of Synthony Music
In 1982 I founded Synthony Music exclusively for the electronic musician. My goal was to provide the best products available, technical assistance, guidance, and a forum for those brave enough to embrace the then new technology in music. Synthony Music became a respected leader in our field, with the largest selection available under one roof. Not just "mainstream products", but also innovative and insightful newcomers. PVI - the company that became Ensoniq, Digidrums that evolved into Digidesign, etc. Our staff of product specialists and advisors assisted countless musicians in their quest for new musical ideas, sound synthesis, and much more. I'd like to think that we were innovators and provided the best service possible to our customers and our industry.
The Synth & Midi Museum is a compilation of products specific to our field of electronic music. Many are mainstream but be sure to check out the "oddities".The companies listed on this site were true innovators and pioneers. The individual product descriptions were compiled from our NAMM reports, product pages, and other sources. I hope you find them useful and fun to browse!
After nearly 22 years Synthony Music closed it's doors in early 2004. I wish to thank all those that chose to patronize Synthony. It was quite a ride and a pleasure to serve.

Over time I hope to post a "retrospective" of the life and times of Synthony Music. In it would be pics of past events as well as friends we made along the way. Stay tuned!
