The GMega synthesizer module is Kawai's first entry into the world of General Midi. Featuring Kawai's own "DMS2" (Digital Multi Spectrum II) tone generator utilizing an 18bit DAC and 16 bit (44.1kHz sampling rate) waveform data for 512 waveforms, fully programmable synth functions with 128 RAM patch locations, 32 channel multi-timbral operation, 32 note polyphony, 6 types of internal digital reverb, 55 types of temperament settings, 2 rom banks of 128 patches each, 1/2 rack module size, 2 midi inputs + 2 midi out/thru, and serial port. The GMEGA LX (XC3) is a lower cost version of the GMega General Midi sound module. The LX includes 128 GM tones & 32 additional non-GM sounds, 28 note polyphony, 16 midi channels, and 7 types of reverbs. The GMega LX comes packaged with 2 software programs, Instant Pleasure (teaching and performance software), and Power Tracks Pro for sequencing applications. List $399
