SK76 & SK88 Workstation Keyboards

The SK76 and SK88 are multitimbral workstations with 32 parts, 32 layers, 32 splits, and a maximum polyphony of 64 notes.

The SK series can completely satisfy all the requirements of music-makers both now and in the future thanks to advanced sound synthesis technology combined with 64 programmable digital filters (5 types: Low pass, High pass, Band pass, Parametric boost, parametric cut, with resonance), to produce a comprehensive range of sound textures, from the purest possible digital tones to authentic 'vintage' analog sounds.

  • Over 600 sounds can be reprogrammed with powerful and intuitive editing functions; the large backlit display gives a clear and effective visual representation of all the operations carried out.
  • These instruments also feature 2 MB of RAM that allows new sounds to be loaded from the Generalmusic WX, WK and S series sound libraries, and also from a variety of other disk formats, including Wave (PC), AIFF (Mac), Sound Designer 1, Akai© S1000, Kurzweil© K2000, Sample Vision and Standard MIDI Sample Dump Standard (SDS).
  • In addition, the SK's vast internal sound library can be expanded by installing additional RAM up to 32 MB (using standard SIMM modules). These instruments can also be fitted with an optional accessory kit to accomodate an internal hard disk with a maximum capacity of 0.5 Gigabytes (2.5" - IDE interface).
  • 64 Real-time performances can be used to memorize any program of sounds, effects, controls, MIDI channels, track status, etc., making it possible to store and immediately recall different configurations.

The SK's styles are an invaluable tool for easily arranging and composing any kind of music.

  • The SK76 and SK88 contain 128 styles (96 Preset + 32 Programmable).
  • Each style is made up of 8 tracks (Drums, Bass, Acc. 1/2/3/4/5/6) each having 4 variations, offering an overall total of more than 3,000 patterns.

The SK series has the most powerful sequencer in its category

With 32 tracks, a capacity of 250,000 events (16 songs), 1/192 resolution, microscope editing, groove quantize, background loading, compatibility with Standard MIDI Files 0, 1 and 1 + lyrics, and also with WK4 and WX/SX formats, the SK's sequencer has the highest specification in the industry.

  • Songs can be recorded in one of two ways - either "track-by-track" or by using the'QuickRec' function.
  • In this mode, any of the automatic accompaniment styles can be used, and once the piece has been recorded, the final result will be a song that can be edited and exported as a normal MIDI file.
  • 8 sliders also give you complete independent control over the volumes of the individual tracks just like on a normal mixer; all volume settings and changes can be recorded with the sequencer.

Four digital effects processors

divided into two groups, give you precise control over sound processing. Two effects can be assigned to each track, with a choice of 24 reverbs and 32 modulation effects for each group.

The SKs are powerful master keyboards with 76 or 88 keys and aftertouch,

  • capable of working with 32 layers and 32 splits.
  • A complete series of connectors (2 MIDI In, 2 Out, 2 thru, plus 3 programmable pedals) allow real-time control over a vast number of functions, allowing total command of 32 separate MIDI channels.
  • The user interface is remarkably intuitive, with a large screen that clearly displays the status of each track, and performances that enable you to change the entire MIDI configuration of the instrument with a single command.

The powerful Sound Edit lets you manipulate the sounds with advanced editing functions, using 2 pole and 4 pole resonant filters.

  • You can use up to 6 oscillators per voice on three layers, in combination with the Wave Vector, that lets you play back the internal or imported samples in forward, reverse and alternate modes.
  • You can even use 6-segment envelopes to program time variant volume, pan and filter cutoff curves.
  • The LFO also features a "sync to MIDI".

Performances, drum kits and global parameters can be controlled via Sysex.
