The DRM-1 performs equally well as both a drum sound source and a rhythm sequence unit. A trigger function and the comprehensive MIDI compatibility make it an invaluable tool for both stage work and as part of a sophisticated MIDI system. Outstanding sound quality, with a high signal-to-noise ratio and wide dynamic range, was achieved through the 12-bit D/A conversion circuitry.
Twenty-three high-quality preset sounds are built-in, and 4 ROM cards (compatible also with the DDD-5) can be used. Parameters such as tuning, decay, output level, and phase can be set for each sound source, with space for up to 16 of these settings in memory. Separate outputs for each of the eight channels is provided, as well as seven terminals for trigger inputs.
The DRM-1's built-in sequencer allows you to record up to 16 patterns on real time and then edit them; functions such as punch in, punch out, overdubbing and erase give you complete control over the results.
