The iS40 and iS50 offer you new creative ways to compose and perform your music at a very affordable price.

The iS40 and iS50 are part of a new generation of Korg Interactive Music Workstations which have refined and expanded the sounds, accompaniment, ease-of-use and sound systems to offer a new level of performance that will enhance your music-making experience.

Both keyboards utilize Korgs world-acclaimed AI2 Synthesis System for extraordinary voicing realism. They are packed with 320 factory sound programs (including a full GM soundset) plus 64 more programs in RAM memory, along with an EDIT PROGRAM function for easily adjusting parameters such as Filter Cutoff, Attack Time, effects, Vibrato Intensity and much more right from the front panel. A total of 16 drum kits are available, with two kits editable to suit your needs. In addition, the iS40 includes an extra 2 Megabytes of dedicated stereo piano PCM for an extremely rich and realistic piano sound.

The iS40 and iS50 both allow a high degree of expressivity in performance thanks to the velocity control of the keyboard, an integrated pitch bend/modulation controller, and sustain/control pedal inputs. The iS40 also boasts aftertouch sensitivity, and an additional assignable pedal input.

Both keyboards offer a newly-designed high quality sound system. The iS50 offers a powerful 2 x 8 watt amplifier and two dual cone speakers housed in a bass reflex box for stunning low frequency response. The iS40 ups the ante with a 2 x 14 watt amplifier and a four speaker system, also housed in a bass reflex box.

The accompaniment system of Korgs i-Series has become well known for the most advanced harmonic recognition and for its exceptional musicality. And the 128 ROM and 16 User styles of both the iS40 and iS50 have been revoiced from scratch to offer you the best of all musical genres, from rock to techno to big band to Latin and more! The 128 ROM and 64 User Arrangements take these backing tracks and orchestrate them with the best mix of onboard sounds and add polish from the two multi effects processors (each with 47 types of effects).

Composing is easier than ever with the iS40 and iS50s 40,000 event Backing Sequencer, which lets you take advantage of the accompaniment features to quickly lay down chordal and melodic ideas, with full editing capabilities. Then you can add up to six more freely-played parts, and even export your final creation as a Standard MIDI File. Or you can use the complete 16-track sequencer for total control over your sequencing needs.

With their built-in disk drives, both keyboards allow you to load in SMFs for playing or editing, and with Song Play mode you can play files directly from a disk with no wait! The new JukeBox function enables you to choose the order that songs play from a disk for even more control over your set list.

The iS40 adds 15 Keyboard Sets which remember your total front panel settings for instant recall. It also has a direct PC interface, a data entry dial and audio inputs for singing or playing CDs directly through its stunning sound system. Finally, both keyboards operating systems can be upgraded directly from floppy disk so that you can immediately take advantage of new features and enhancements as they are developed.
