The ME30P (list $149.95) is a programmable midi patchbay with 15 patch memories, 4 midi ins/ 8 midi thrus, input & output channel select and program select.
ME35T TRIG TO MIDIThe 1U rackmount ME35T converts audio trigger signals into midi signals (midi channel, note, velocity, on time, recovery time, etc). Each input can be triggered from an electronic drum, an acoustic drum, or from a microphone. And with its eight inputs, the ME35T gives you plenty to control. Whether you are a DJ using a mic, or a performer on stage with a full compliment of electronic sensors, you can combine creative expression with the advanced technology of digital samplers and synthesizers. The ME35T allows you to merge the midi signal from the audio inputs along with the MIDI signal from an external keyboard or sequencer so that you may use both devices to drive your midi sound generator.* 8 audio inputs (-40dBv to +18dBv)* Midi input, output, and thru* 1 space rack mount design* Mfg list price $499.95.
When you have a couple of MIDI instruments to hook up, just using series connection is, of course, a simple solution. But suppose you have more instruments-say, eight-to connect and want to use different patching configurations? That's when you need the ME80P, the MIDI Programmable Patch Bay from Akai.
The ME80P accepts up to eight inputs (from MIDI sequencers, keyboards, synthesizers, etc.) and ten outputs (for MIDI samplers, sound modules, synthesizers, mixers, etc.). You can patch any input to any output or even to a number of outputs. You can merge two inputs and send the composite to any output, while sending the original two to their respective outputs. This means you can play a single sound module on two MIDI controllers.
To add to the convenience, up to 128 patching programs of input/ output patterns can be stored in the provided memory and recalled at a touch. The MIDI filtering function lets you selectively suppress unnecessary events in MIDI data across all channels (system messages) or channel by channel (channel messages). An optional foot switch permits hands-off bank selection, while the LED display permits real-time monitor of programmed MIDI patches.
