The P50-m is an advanced yet easy-to-use tone generator with genuine acoustic piano and other popular keyboard sounds. Based on Yamaha's state-of-the-art P-series Electronic Pianos, the P50-m gives you exceptionally realistic and high-quality piano Voices - many in luscious-sounding stereo. The P50-m features twenty-eight voices including authentic acoustic grand piano sounds, the vintage CP80 and the famous DX7 electric piano sounds. The acoustic piano sound is remarkably accurate due to the P50-m's association with the professional sound of the P-150. What's more, several of the piano Voices feature special stretched tuning, for a richer solo piano sound. With its full 32-note polyphony (16 on twolayered Voices), the P50-m is capable of handling complex, long-sustain musical passages. However, if you need more notes, simply connect a second P50-m - and enjoy up to 64 note polyphony!
Built-in high-quality effects
All of the P50-m Voices are enhanced with built-in effects, featuring independent Reverb and Chorus sections, as well as a three-band Equalizer (with front panel sliders). Both the Reverb and Chorus sections have eleven different effect types, and you can even set the amount of Reverb for each Voice with the Reverb Send control.
Comprehensive control with simple operation
The P50-m is incredibly easy to use, with virtually all functions no more than a button press away. Front panel EQ sliders give you instant and intuitive sound-shaping control, while separate Master Tune and Note Shift let you adjust the tuning of the P50-m to match other instruments or singers. Plus, the seven different Touch Curves let you change the touch sensitivity to match your style and playing strength.
Using with XG/General MIDI
The P50-m is designed to work seamlessly in XG and General MIDI (GM) applications, allowing you to easily take advantage of the vast wealth of sequence data recorded in those formats. The P50-m can even be set up with another GM/XG tone generator so that the piano tracks of a song will be played only by the P50-m, freeing up the connected tone generator for other instrumental parts.
