The first MlDI-compatible pad controller, the PAD-8 offers the drummer or percussionist the ability to completely control MIDI equipment. Now the drummers and percussionists can expand their capabilities by utilizing any possible sound the MIDI synthesizer or drum machine produces.

The PAD-8 features eight touch-sensitive pads. The pads are comfortably elastic in order to give the player a natural feel. Each pad can be independently assigned to the MIDI note number (O to 127) and MIDI channel (1 to 16) so that any sound source-drum sounds from a MIDI drum machine or the notes from a MIDI synthesizer-can be activated by hitting a pad. In addition, three other programmable parameters -Curve, Minimum Velocity, and Gate Time are provided for each pad. These parameters are adjusted to player's taste while hearing the actual sound. Four different pad setting combinations can be stored in the PAD-8's memory as Patch Presets and recalled instantly. The stored data can be easily modified afterwards.

Up to six external pads can be connected and programmed. The PAD-8 can also send MIDI program change messages (O to 127) to a connected MIDI device.

PAD-80 - $799 - The Pad-80 is an updated version of the Pad 8 Octapad pad midi controller. Features include 64 patches and can be expanded w/ cartridge to store 128 patches, patch chain functions from either footswitch or panel (8 chains of up to 32 patches each), layering for velocity mix/switch functions, pitch bend and modulation parameters and gate times up to 4 seconds per pad per patch, transmission of Pad data (midi controller #10) for each of itUs 8 pads, program number for each pad & patch.
