The sounds for the Proteus come from the EIII library and include samples of pianos, organs, strings, horns, guitars, basses, drums, latin percussion, and much more. Emu has included what they call RMidiPatchS that allows direct realtime control of over 40 of a soundUs parameters, either from a keyboard or other midi controller, or from internal LFOs and envelopes. The Proteus/2 is identical in appearance and features to the original Proteus I, but includes a sound set specifically orchestral in nature (8 megabytes). 4 megabytes of these sounds will also be available for standard Proteus and Proteus XR owners for approximately $495.
