
Kawai's R-50 is a smaller version of the R-100 drum machine introduced in 1986. Sounds are 12 bit companding / 32Khz sampling format and comes with 24 sounds. 50 preset and 50 programmable patterns are available with 10 songs. Velocity settings can be set for each pad or played dynamically from midi. Internal effects such as delay, flange & gate are also included.
The R50E is identical in features to the original R50 with 24 electronic drum, bass, and orchestra sounds. There are 50 preset & 50 programmable patterns, 10 song memories, stereo & headphone outputs, 10 sound pads, 4 preset & 8 programmable pad setups, and more.
The R-100 is a digital drum computer with 24 sampled percussion sounds (32 DHz sampling rate with 12 bit companding format), 8 velocity sensing trigger bottons, up to 100 patterns / 100 songs / 10 chains, and more. Midi implementation includes notes in/out, clocks, real time tuning of all 24 sounds and midi song pointer. There are 10 separate programmable outputs (2 stereo, 8 direct), sync to tape, tap tempo, and foot pedal control of hi Hat length. Sounds include 3 bass, 3 snares, rim, 3 toms, Hi Hat close/open, crash, crach mute, china cym., cowbell, claps, shaker, agogo, conga, tambourine, timbale and claves. Maximum memory capacity is 3500 notes, and data is stored via tape or RAM cartridge. List $795
