The Raven's sound source encompasses everything from classic subtractive synthesis and FM to additive synthesis and sample playback of all the classic drum machines. In addition to the classic subtractive synthesis with 24dB steep low pass filters with resonance, the Raven features a variety of FM algorithms and additive synthesis. There are 512 single sounds and 250 performance memories all optimized by Germany's top programmers, geared towards modern music production.

In addition, the Raven also contains "The Motivator". By playing a chord, it can generate bass patterns, wave sequences or gated patch effects.
