The SGproX provides a new level of piano sound that takes full advantage of the voicing technology you expect from Korg. In particular, the newly-sampled stereo pianos were recorded with painstaking attention to the selection of the sampled sources, the acoustical environment, mic placement, and even the method by which the keys were struck. Carefully crafted velocity switching of stereo samples provides tonal changes and dynamics that will come alive under your fingers. The mono piano samples co me from the Korg SGX-1D, bringing a now legendary piano sound into the next generation. The weighted 88-note full scale keyboard has been designed with emphasis placed on playability both as a stage piano and as the ideal master control keyboard. Its smooth action and natural responsiveness to the subtleties of your touch will bring out the full potential of each sound.

64 on-board sounds, and flexible editing control over both sounds and effects.
With 64 onboard sounds the SGproX offers expansive creative sound potential. In addition to 16 acoustic piano sounds the SGproX features a number of other indispensable sounds, including electric pianos, clavinets, combo and pipe organs, basses, vibes and strings. Bells, voices and synth sounds are provided to help create many essential contemporary blends. Sounds can be edited by adjusting attack, decay, release, effects, filter cutoff and more. And you can store your settings in the SGproXis internal memory. The SGproX also features a studio-quality, programmable, stereo, digital multi-effects processor with a full range of effects. A new effect developed specifically for piano, Hyper Enhancer, adds spaciousness and impact to its sound. A five-band graphic equalizer is also provided for instant access to detailed tonal variations.

The SGproX has a full complement of master keyboard functions.
The SGproX performs as a fully professional master keyboard. Two sets of independent MIDI connectors are provided, allowing external tone generators to be controlled from a total of four MIDI Outs. The SGproX allows you to play a total of ten timbres; two timbres from the internal tone generator and eight on external tone generators. You have full control over volume, panning, key range and controller settings to name but a few parameters. A combination of up to ten timbres can be saved as a Performance, and 64 Performances can be stored in internal memory. Out of the box the SGproX has 64 layered and split Performances already programmed for you, raising the total number of sounds to 128! Th ese can be selected directly using front panel switches for maximum speed during performance. The MIDI specification defines a number of controls which are implemented by a combination of two or more different MIDI messages. For example, the MIDI tuning message normally requires you to send four messages. Thankfully, the SGproX can send strings of messages as one integrated set, making controlling MIDI devices easier than ever before. The SGproX boasts numerous controllers to support its master keyboard functionality: two assignable wheels are placed at the left side of the instrument, four assignable sliders and six switches on the front panel, alongwith multiple pedal inputs. MIDI messages such as control changes can be freely assigned to these controllers, and they be used to control functions of the SGproX itself (like volume, effect depth, brightness etc.).

The SGproX is designed for easy, intuitive operation, with dedicated switches provided for frequently used functions. Sixteen switches allow selection of internal preset sounds or Performances. A dedicated button is provided for instant split or layer between sounds. All the available parameters for program edit, performance edit and global modes are screened directly on the front panel - you won't have to search through display pages to find the parameter that you want! Sliders and switches that modify the character of the sound such as equalizer or effect on/off have their own independent panel switches, and the large and easy-to-read display is backlit for superb visibility. All features that youill appreciate during performance.
