The U-20 is a multi-timbral keyboard that features sampled sounds in ROM including pianos, brass, strings, bass, and drums. The keyboard is 61 notes with velocity and after-touch sensitivity, and the U-20 can accept 2 cards from Rolands SNU110 sound library. There are 64 patches for storing midi functions and performance control settings, and the U-20 also contains a chord play feature for one finger play.

This unit is 30 note polyphonic and 6 channel multi-timbral for sounds plus rhythm, and contains a digital reverb and chorus section. There are two stereo outputs plus 2 direct outputs. The display is 24 x 2 backlit LCD. A racck mount version (U-220) is a one space rack mount version with same electronic specifications.
