Yamaha's proven AWM2 tone generation, with 8 megabytes of wave memory, provides you with 384 realistic voices to select from. Each voice is generated by a maximum of four elements to ensure quality and depth for music production and performance. In addition, the W7/W5 is equipped with studio quality DSP stereo effect processors with editable parameters to give you professional sound no matter what voice you choose. Effects can be assigned to each voice or the total system in any way you like. Actually, the separate insertion and system effects allow precise control over the final sound of any voice you select. The outstanding and remarkable sound quality will sometimes remind you of vintage analog synthesizer sounds as well as the latest contemporary sounds. This high quality sound is a result of Yamaha's professional tone generation and sound processing technology.

Voice Templates Get the Sound you want Fast

The W7/W5 features a widely varied template type menu so you can edit various voice parameters in an exceedingly quick and easy process. The onboard voice editing template type data base includes a selection of 39 amplitude types, 59 various filter settings, 40 pitch envelope settings and 33 different LFO settings. No longer do you need to start difficult and complicated voice editing from scratch. Picking from the various templates allows you to get excellent voices quickly so you can spend your time making finer adjustments accurately. All edited voices can of course be saved for future use and comparison.

Powerful Sequencer with Room to Play

The W7/W5 has a large 100,000 note memory for as much orchestration and complexity as you need. As many as 16 tracks can be used to create up to 16 separate songs all easily monitored on a large, easyto-read display. The W7/W5 is equipped with maximum 32-note polyphony so that all voices you recorded can be heard just the way you arranged them. This large 16 voice multi-timbral synthesizer enables you to have 16 voices on call simultaneously for precise and practical live, studio and sequencer performance and with a whopping voice memory capacity, getting just the voice you want is easy. Each of the song's voices can be recorded and played back with the sequence data not affecting the on board RAM user voices when you load or save from a floppy disk.

Compatible General MIDI and Standard MIDI Format

The W7/W5 is General MIDI compatible for universal format and data exchange and includes the highest quality 128 GM voices available. In addition, Standard MIDI file formatting gives you flexibility with your musical data. This data compatibility allows you to store and retrieve all your songs, voices and sequences easily and without voicing errors. The W7/W5 is the only music workstation you need to compose and perform with the professional results you expect and need.

Large LCD and Easy-to-Use Interface

The W7/W5 features a large LCD display so you can easily see the various operation settings and levels. Furthermore, the LCD is backlit so that external lighting on stage, in the studio or at home will not affect the display clarity. The 16 assignable LED buttons on the front panel light up when pressed so that editing any tracks, voices, elements and other parameters is fast and easy. The voice edit display in combination with 16 separate LED enables you to make many types of adjustments immediately. In addition, a double dial allows rapid editing operation. The sleek and simple interface of the W7/W5 means you can perform any operations easily and without mistake or delay on stage or in the studio.
